UETTDRRF06B Perform Rescue from a live Low Voltage (LV) Panel

Topics covered include; responsibility of the first aider, infection control, bleeding and shock, fractures, head injuries, heart attack, seizures, burns, safety and injury prevention, eye injuries, sprains, unconsciousness, managing medical conditions such as epilepsy, anaphylaxis, and asthma, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), basic anatomy, advanced spinal care, and bag valve mask resuscitation.

This unit requires an online registration to be completed prior to the attendance of a 3 hour session of practical training and assessment in the classroom, or a 2 hour session of practical training and assessment in the classroom if the course is for Refresher Training.

Candidates are required to hold and provide evidence of an up-to-date HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) qualification in order to register for this course. CPR qualifications are required to be updated every 12 months.

Candidates who do not have an up-to-date CPR qualification or would like to refresh their CPR qualification at the same time as undertaking the LVR course are able to enrol into the following Skill Set Training Course:

HLTAID001 Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Candidates who require this training as Refresher Training are required to provide evidence of both their CPR qualification and a letter of industry currency to demonstrate that they currently work in an electrical trade.

Candidates also have the option of updating their First Aid qualification (which includes CPR) at the same time as undertaking the LVR course. First Aid qualifications are required to be updated every three years. Candidates who do not have an up-to-date First Aid qualification or would like to refresh their First Aid qualification can enrol into the following Skill Set Training Course:

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

This course is delivered by an experienced trainer who holds a qualification in paramedical science and has a physical education background, he also has extensive experience as a musculoskeletal practitioner with a long history as a first responder in event first aid for adults and children.

Refresher Training: 2 hours

Refresher: 7 hours face to face, plus pre-course online study and questionnaire
