This nationally recognised course provides students with the ability to identify the safety requirements for all Non-Slewing Cranes and their working environments as well as being able to apply a working knowledge of the OH&S and regulatory requirements in accordance with Worksafe standards. Please note that this licence does not cover the holder for the operation of scissor lifts or vertical lifts.


This Non-Slewing mobile crane (CN) course covers the operation of a mobile crane of greater than 3 tonnes capacity in safe operating condition including appropriate log books, load charts and operators manuals, that complies with relevant state and territory regulation requirements or such as those described in AS1418. The crane will also incorporate a boom or jib, which includes articulated type mobile cranes and locomotive cranes, but does not include vehicle tow trucks.

This course is mandatory for anyone who wishes to operate a mobile non-slewing crane with capacity of 3 tonnes and above. If you do not have a High Risk Work Licence – class CN, you must enrol and obtain a formal training delivered by a Registered Training Organisation.

Safety shoes and appropriate clothing (High visibility vests, hard hats and all other required PPE can be provided). All resources are supplied by AIO including trainees guide, workbook, resource materials, assessment paperwork and administrative documentation.

Students are required to be able to use the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high-risk work. Students are required to have general good health and fitness and any pre-existing medical conditions that will affect the training must be disclosed prior to attending. To obtain a Victorian Worksafe Licence, applicants must reside in Victoria or, if they reside elsewhere, have a valid reason for obtaining the licence in Victoria.
